About Me

The details of my life are quite inconsequential.

Mike Myers as Dr. Evil
Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery

My name is Larry Swank, and I’m a Christian, father, and web developer. I own my own business, FortySixTen Studios, and I’m fortunate enough to spend most of my days working out of the corner of my bedroom that doubles as my office. I specialize in database-driven web development, using databases both large and small to make websites dynamic and make their management easy on their owners.

I’m what you would call non-denominational Christian. I love God, I believe in Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, and I accept the Bible as the source for all Christian teachings. I have an inherent distrust of any large corporate entity, though, and this largely extends to big churches, too. Fortunately, we were able to find a wonderful church here in Terre Haute, HealingPointe, where we really feel like we’re supposed to be. God is definitely working in that place, both in the two of us and in the community at large, as well.

I am husband to my wonderful wife Holli, who takes care of the house and books for me to leave me free to set off on my little entrepreneurial venture. I have three beautiful children, ages seven, five, and three, who are the absolute joys of my life. I might work to make money, but I firmly believe that my job, first and foremost, is as a father, and I believe that my most important and productive time every day is spent with my kids – playing with them, teaching them, and helping them grow up.

I’m also an avid gamer. I currently own a PS3 and a PSP, and there’s a Wii in the living room that belongs to the kids which they’re gracious enough to share with their daddy from time to time. My taste in games is eclectic, ranging from my newly-found love of rhythm games like Guitar Hero, to Japanese-style RPGs in the Final Fantasy Mode, shoot-em-ups, and the stealth action genre, which is really just a clever euphemism for the Metal Gear Solid games.

I round out my hobbies by pointing out my sports passions. I used to be a huge sports nut and followed everything that I could, but as I’ve grown older and accepted more responsibilities, I’ve fallen off of my nuttiness, so to speak. I am still a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and during the baseball season my moods often live and die with my beloved Cubbies. I’m also a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, what with living only an hour away from Indy, and I’m still riding the high of the Colts letting me celebrate “my team” winning it all for the first time in my lifetime.

That’s me in a nutshell. If you have any questions, leave me a comment somewhere and I’ll do my best to answer. Thanks for visiting!
